Belize is a small Central American country located to the south of Mexico, east of Guatemala, and north Honduras. Its capital city is Belmopan. It has over 200 cayes (islands) dotting its coastline, presents the ultimate Caribbean experience with its fierce tropical beauty, and is home to the famous Mayan Ruins.

There are two major climates in Belize which are the rainy season (lasts from May through to November) and the dry season (from February to May).

The safest time to visit Belize is during the dry season so as to steer clear of possible flooding. Nevertheless, it is pretty comfortable to visit Belize during the winter months owing to its warm climates.
The most comfortable clothing in Belize are shorts, colourful loose shirts, and light dresses.

Belize is the most culturally diverse country in Central America consisting of the Spanish-Indian Mestizos, African-Indian Garinagus, some Europeans, African-European Creoles, North Americans, and Asians. Therefore, as is to be expected, Belize is quite the meeting pot of cultures. Belize is a primarily Christian (Roman Catholic and Anglican) nation.

Belizean cuisine features foods from the various ethnicities that make up the country. Across the country, foods such as bread, rice and beans, cheeses and fry jacks, escabeche, panades, stew chicken and a lot more are favoured.
